Eva Chesley Scholarship

The Support Education Foundation is proud to preserve Eva Chesley’s legacy by awarding scholarships to students pursuing a career in education. Eva taught for 38 years and her commitment to the education of students in the public school system and the surrounding communities was evident to all those who knew her. She also served on the Board of Directors of Educational Systems Federal Credit Union for over 25 years. Ms. Chesley held numerous leadership positions as a director, committee member, vice chair and chair. She also served on the Education Credit Union Council (ECUC) Board of Directors for eight years and served as president. ECUC is a national community of credit unions who serve schools, universities, and educational select employee groups.

Scholarship amount

A recurring scholarship in the amount of $5,000 per year for three years.*

Scholarship purpose

The scholarship money can be used for tuition at a four-year college or university in the state of Maryland.

Eligibility

  • Rising college sophomore pursuing a degree in education
  • Full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours)
  • Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA to qualify initially and each consecutive year

Applications

Applications can be submitted between February 1, 2024 and March 29, 2024. Winners will be are announced by June 15, 2024 and the scholarship money will be paid directly to the school the student will attend in the fall.

* A scholarship will be awarded to two rising college sophomores pursuing a degree in education and who attend a four-year college or university in the state of Maryland. Applicants are only eligible to apply for one scholarship per year from the Support Education Foundation. Educational Systems FCU employees, volunteers and their family members are not eligible to apply.
