The Support Education Foundation, Inc. is committed to keeping personal information about our members secure and confidential. We will not share your personal information except as needed to provide services you request, including as described below. If you terminate your membership with the Support Education Foundation, we will continue to protect your personal information and not share it except as required by law or as needed to finalize our service to you. The Support Education Foundation reserves the right to change this Privacy Notice without notice by posting the changes to our website at SupportEducation.org.

Information we collect

When you become a member of the Support Education Foundation, we collect the following personal information:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Employer and position

We do not store sensitive information from website visitors, such as credit card information; however, we use third parties to provide credit card processing. When you initiate a donation to the Support Education Foundation, you will be directed to the website of our third party processor and the privacy notices of the processor shall govern the collection and handling of information that you provide to them. With respect to credit card processing, we do not collect, store, or process any credit card information. If you do not want your information to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer of your information by not using that particular service.

How we protect your information

To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality and limits the information we provide. We do not permit companies to sell the information we provide to other third parties. We may also share your information with our affiliates including Educational Systems Federal Credit Union. The Credit Union’s Privacy Notice governs its collection and use of your information and may be reviewed online.

Generally, the Support Education Foundation does not collect personal information from users of its website, other than as described above. We also collect and store non-personal information for the express purpose of tracking website use in order to improve design, service and/or site navigation tools. To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

The Support Education Foundation regularly tests and assesses its information security measures, trains the administrators of the systems and adapts upgrades and enhancements as necessary to protect your information.

Use of ‘cookies’

The Foundation’s website uses ‘cookies’. These small pieces of information are stored on a visitor’s web browser. Cookies actually help protect the privacy of a member’s transaction by automatically terminating online sessions if the member forgets to log out. Cookies cannot be used to capture a user’s email address, obtain data from the user’s hard drive or obtain confidential or sensitive information about the user.

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but generally allow users to modify their browser settings to display a warning before accepting a cookie, to accept cookies only from certain websites, and/or to refuse all cookies. We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law such as to comply with a subpoena or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on us or to protect and defend our rights or property.

The Support Education Foundation website and the servers that store information obtained from visitors to the website are located within the United States of America and we cannot guaranty that our data collection practices fully comply with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”) pertaining to the treatment of your user information in accordance with the GDPR. As such, we do not target this website to individuals residing within the EU and you are advised to not provide any personal data to us, although you are free to browse this website for general information regarding the Support Education Foundation. Children

This site is not intended for use of children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

California privacy rights
